Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a welcoming primary school in King's Heath to recruit a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant for KS1. The role is based in Quinton, with a September 2026 start and a daily rate of £95–£110.

You’ll support children with additional needs and help deliver tailored interventions. The successful candidate will hold a Level 2/3 TA qualification or equivalent and have experience with SEN, especially KS1, ASD/ADHD/SEMH, along with strong communication and behaviour management

Qualifications

  • Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with SEN, KS1.
  • Strong understanding of ASD, ADHD or SEMH.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management.
  • A patient, caring and adaptable approach.

Responsibilities

  • Support children with SEN in KS1 and deliver tailored interventions.
  • Help maintain pupil engagement and focus throughout the day.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement strategies.

Salary: £95 - £110 per day

The school is looking to take on a full time, long term SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a KS1 classroom. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be supporting children with a range of additional needs, helping to deliver tailored interventions and ensuring pupils remain engaged and supported throughout the school day.


The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:


  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly within KS1

  • A strong understanding of supporting children with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD or SEMH

  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills

  • A patient, caring and adaptable approach

  • A ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to support across the classroom
