Job summary

Smile Education is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to support learners at a primary school in Rochdale. This full-time, permanent role runs Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 3:30, with a daily rate in the £95–£115 range.

The school is described as good by Ofsted and offers a welcoming staff environment. The role involves supporting children with additional needs, building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families, and maintaining clear progress communication with the class teacher.

Qualifications

• An up-to-date DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one.
• A teaching assistant qualification or health and social care (level 2 or 3).
• Experience working with SEN children on a 1:1 basis or small groups.
• Experience working with Primary or secondary school children.
• At least 2 professional references covering the last 2 years of work history.

• Develop and concentrate on building a relationship with the children, staff and family members.
• Constant and consistent communication with the class teacher, regarding progress and potential methods of work.
• Create a secure and positive environment for the child to learn and feel comfortable.
