Job summary

Smile Education are seeking a Part Time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a large 2 form entry school in Worcester. The role is either 2 full days per week or 5 mornings per week, long term with the potential to go permanent.

You will support pupils on a 1:1 basis or with small group interventions, build strong relationships with children, staff and families, and maintain open communication with the class teacher to monitor progress and learning.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN
• Ability to work 1:1 or in small groups
• Strong communication with staff and families

The role would be part time, either 2 full days a week or 5 mornings a week. It would be a long term position with the potential of going permanent with the school

The Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant

• Encouraging independence within the class and within students, being proactive
• Develop and concentrate on building a relationship with the children, staff and family members.
• Constant and consistent communication with the class teacher, regarding progress and potential methods of work.
• Create a secure and positive environment for the child to learn and feel comfortable.

To apply for this SEN teaching assistant role, you will need:

• An up-to-date DBS on the update service or dated within the last 12 months.
• A teaching assistant qualification or health and social care (level 2 or 3).
• Experience working with SEN children on a 1:1 basis or small groups work.
• Experience working with Primary or secondary school children.
• At least 2 professional references covering the last 2 years of work history.
