Job description

This is a warm and inclusive school dedicated to providing high-quality education and support for all students. They have a strong commitment to ensuring that children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) receive the individualised care and assistance they need to thrive in a supportive learning environment. We are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team starting in September 2025.

Duties as SEN Teaching Assistant:
  1. Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN, including one-to-one and small group work
  2. Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and adapting lesson materials to meet pupils' needs
  3. Support the emotional, social, and academic development of students with additional needs
  4. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure a consistent approach to learning
  5. Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  6. Assist with personal care and mobility where required (if applicable)
Ideal Teaching Assistant:
  1. Has experience working with children with SEN (preferred but not essential)
  2. Is patient, understanding, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs
  3. Can adapt to different learning styles and provide flexible support
  4. Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff, pupils, and parents
  5. Holds relevant qualifications (such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) or is willing to train
