Job summary

New Directions Holdings Limited is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across schools in Leicester and surrounding areas. You’ll help children feel supported, confident, and able to engage with learning, with 1:1 or small group support depending on needs.

The role involves working with teachers and SEN staff to create a positive learning environment and ensure pupils stay engaged throughout the day. DBS checks and safeguarding measures apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience with SEN or in a similar role.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Care/Support Worker, Youth Worker or Residential Support Worker.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN to stay engaged and focused during the school day.
• Assist during lessons and small group activities.
• Provide reassurance, routine, and encouragement.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and SEN staff.
• Help create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Location: Leicester
Hours: Full-time / Part-time options available
Pay: £96.63 – £100.00 per day (depending on experience)

You’ll be working through a SEND-specialist education recruitment agency, matching strong support staff with local schools.
