Job summary

  • Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support for students with complex SEN needs, adapting your approach to suit each learner.
  • Assisting in classroom, workshop, and vocational sessions, helping students engage meaningfully with the curriculum.
  • Encouraging independence, communication, and positive social interactions, fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Collaborating with teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for every pupil.
  • Supporting progress towards Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets and helping each child reach their potential.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning atmosphere where every student feels valued and understood.

SEN Role at a Glance

In this role, you'll be at the heart of helping learners with a variety of special educational needs-including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and learning difficulties, access lessons, develop independence, and build confidence. Your support will be crucial not only for academic progress but also for personal growth and wellbeing.

  • A valid DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply.
