Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd. is recruiting a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant for a primary SEN Hub in Sutton Coldfield from September 2026.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups to support pupils with a range of needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop confidence within an inclusive setting. You will collaborate with the SENCO, class teachers and the support team to implement tailored interventions, monitor progress, and promote positive behaviour.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in primary or specialist settings.
  • Experience delivering 1:1 and small-group support.
  • Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the SEN Hub
  • Support pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
  • Deliver targeted interventions linked to EHCP outcomes and learning plans
  • Help pupils access the curriculum through adapted activities
  • Support communication, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour
  • Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals
  • Promote independence, confidence and engagement
  • Maintain a calm, structured, inclusive learning environment

SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary SEN Hub

Location: Sutton Coldfield, B72

Contract: Long-term/Permanent

Day Rate: 110- 120

Start Date: September 2026

Commutable From: Erdington, Wylde Green, Boldmere, Birmingham, Castle Bromwich

The Opportunity

Long Term Futures are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the B72 area from September 2026.

This role will be based within the school's dedicated SEN Hub, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs through a combination of 1:1 support and small-group interventions.

You will work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and wider support team to help pupils access learning, develop confidence, regulate emotions, and make positive progress both academically and socially. The school offers a highly supportive and inclusive environment with a strong focus on personalised learning.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the school's SEN Hub
  • Support pupils with a range of SEN and additional learning needs

Requirements
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary or specialist setting

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive SEN team
