Are you a compassionate and patient educator with a heart for Special Educational Needs (SEN)? A supportive 1 form entry primary school in Wigan is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team. This role is specifically focused on supporting a child in Reception with additional learning needs, ensuring they have a positive and inclusive start to their school journey.
This is a 1:1 position where you will become a consistent, calming presence for a single pupil. Your primary goal is to bridge the gap between the child's individual needs and the classroom environment, helping them access the EYFS curriculum at their own pace.
Experience: Proven experience working with children with SEN (Autism, ADHD, or Speech & Language difficulties).
Skills: Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and sensory-based learning.
Attributes: Resilience, empathy, and a genuine desire to see every child succeed regardless of their barriers to learning.
Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential, and relevant experience is paramount.
This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
