Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs in a Carshalton school. You will provide classroom and 1:1 support, helping pupils access learning, communicate, and stay engaged throughout the day.

Work alongside teachers to adapt activities, reinforce positive behaviour, and monitor progress. This full-time, long-term role pays £90–£120 per day, with an ASAP start in a nurturing educational setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people
• School-based or SEN experience highly desirable
• Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs
• A patient, calm and supportive approach
• Confidence supporting pupils with learning, engagement and behaviour

TeacherActive is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Carshalton, South London, starting as soon as possible.

The school supports pupils with a range of special educational needs and additional learning needs. Pupils benefit from a structured and nurturing environment, with staff working closely together to provide individualised support that promotes learning, confidence, independence and positive behaviour.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide both classroom-based and individual support, helping pupils to access learning and remain engaged throughout the school day.

You will work alongside teachers and other support staff to adapt activities to individual pupils' needs, reinforce positive behaviour and provide additional support where required. Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils will be an important part of the role.

The successful candidate will be patient, reliable, proactive and confident, with a genuine interest in supporting children and young people with SEN.
