Job summary

TeacherActive are recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work within specialist SEND settings in Bromley.

The role may include 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access learning, encouraging communication and independence, and working closely with teachers and other professionals to meet individual needs.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Experience working with children or young people with autism or additional needs.
  • A patient, caring and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence supporting pupils with complex needs.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Personal care experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND.
  • Deliver small-group teaching and activities.
  • Support pupil access to learning and promote communication and independence.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to meet individual needs.

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Bromley, BR1

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)

Are you patient, caring and confident supporting pupils with additional needs?

TeacherActive are recruiting for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to work within specialist SEND settings in Bromley.

Our Schools supports children and young people with autism and a range of additional learning and communication needs. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you may be required to provide 1:1 and small-group support, help pupils access learning, encourage communication and independence, and work closely with teachers and other professionals to meet individual needs.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND
  • Experience working with children or young people with autism or additional needs
  • A patient, caring and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence supporting pupils with complex needs
  • A good understanding of safeguarding
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Personal care experience would be beneficial
