Job summary

TeacherActive is working with Newcastle secondary schools to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with autism, ADHD and SEMH. You will help learners access lessons, manage individual needs and build positive relationships in the classroom.

The role is long-term with potential permanent opportunities. Salary is paid at £95–£110 per day, with focus on KS3/KS4 and inclusive education in a supportive school environment.

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young people with additional needs?

Do you have experience supporting students with autism, ADHD or SEMH needs?

Are you patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with secondary school students?

The schools are committed to helping young people with additional needs engage with their education and reach their full potential.

We are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant for long-term roles, with permanent opportunities available. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support students with a range of needs including autism / ASD, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder / ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, helping them access learning, manage their individual needs and engage positively within the classroom.
