Job summary

TeacherActive is working with Middlesbrough secondary schools to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant for long-term roles starting in September. You will support students with autism/ASD, ADHD and SEMH needs in KS3 and KS4, helping them access learning and engage in the classroom.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting young people with additional needs, a patient and resilient approach, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
• Experience with autism/ASD, ADHD or SEMH.
• Experience supporting students across KS3 and KS4 is desirable.

We are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant for long-term roles, with permanent opportunities available. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support students with a range of needs including autism / ASD, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder / ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, helping them access learning, manage their individual needs and engage positively within the classroom.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs


• Experience working with autism / ASD, ADHD and/or SEMH needs


• Experience supporting students across KS3 and KS4 is desirable


• A patient and resilient approach


• Strong communication and relationship-building skills


• A positive and adaptable attitude
