Job summary

TeacherActive are recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work within specialist SEND settings in Bromley.

The role may include 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access learning, encouraging communication and independence, and working closely with teachers and other professionals to meet individual needs.

Our schools service supports children with autism and a range of additional needs, offering market-leading rates of pay and ongoing CPD through our My-Progression brand.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Experience working with children or young people with autism or additional needs.
  • A patient, caring and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence supporting pupils with complex needs.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Personal care experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND.
  • Deliver small-group teaching and activities.
  • Support pupil access to learning and promote communication and independence.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to meet individual needs.
