Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for long-term roles in Durham starting in September. You will support students with autism, ADHD and SEMH, helping them access learning and participate in lessons.

The successful candidate will have experience with KS3/KS4, strong communication, patience and resilience, and will join a dedicated team with CPD opportunities and market leading pay. This is a PAYE role with consultants available 24/7.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
• Experience working with autism / ASD, ADHD and/or SEMH needs.
• Experience supporting students across KS3 and KS4 is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support students with a range of needs including autism/ASD, ADHD and SEMH.
• Help students access learning and manage their individual needs.
• Engage positively within the classroom and build relationships with pupils and staff.

We are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant for long-term roles, with permanent opportunities available. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support students with a range of needs including autism / ASD, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder / ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, helping them access learning, manage their individual needs and engage positively within the classroom.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
• Experience working with autism / ASD, ADHD and/or SEMH needs
• Experience supporting students across KS3 and KS4 is desirable
• A patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A positive and adaptable attitude
