Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a welcoming primary school in Northfield, seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 class. You will assist pupils with a range of additional needs, delivering tailored interventions and helping maintain engagement throughout the day.

The role is in Northfield, starting October 2026, with a daily rate of £95–£110. A Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent and KS1 SEN experience are required, along with strong communication and behaviour

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working with children with SEN, particularly KS1.
• Understanding of ASD/ADHD/SEMH.
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Willingness to support across the classroom.

The school is looking to take on a full time, long term SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a KS1 classroom. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be supporting children with a range of additional needs, helping to deliver tailored interventions and ensuring pupils remain engaged and supported throughout the school day.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
• Experience working with children with SEN, particularly within KS1
• A strong understanding of supporting children with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD or SEMH
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
• A can-do attitude and willingness to support across the classroom
