Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a role in Castle Bromwich. The position offers day-to-day opportunities with potential progression to long-term roles, supporting pupils aged 5-16 with SEMH within a specialist SEND setting.

The successful candidate will have SEND and SEMH experience, strong behavior management, and the patience to work calmly in challenging environments. PAYE arrangements and ongoing CPD are provided.

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £95 - £115 per day

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND setting in Castle Bromwich supporting around 100 pupils aged 5-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The setting provides a structured and supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to develop their confidence, resilience and engagement with learning.

The setting is looking to appoint SEN Teaching Assistants for day-to-day opportunities, with the potential to move into a long-term position. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils across primary and secondary age groups, provide individual and classroom support and use a consistent approach to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
• Confidence working with pupils aged 5-16
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• The ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
