Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant in Abergavenny to support pupils with ASD and Global Delay. The role covers classroom assistance and personal care where needed, under direction of the class teacher and wider support team.

The position is full-time from September in a welcoming mainstream school that promotes inclusion and a caring ethos for every pupil.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with ASD and Global Delay.
• Experience providing personal care within an education or care setting.
• A caring, patient and resilient approach to supporting children with additional needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A Support Worker background is welcomed.
• A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to get involved.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with ASD and Global Delay in the classroom and provide personal care where required.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and wider support team to keep pupils engaged and progressing throughout the day.

Salary: £14.25 per hour

The school is looking to appoint a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant from September. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils with ASD and Global Delay, providing both classroom support and personal care where required, while working closely with the class teacher and wider support team to ensure pupils remain engaged and make progress throughout the school day.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Previous experience supporting children with ASD and Global Delay
• Experience providing personal care within an education or care setting
• A caring, patient and resilient approach to supporting children with additional needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A Support Worker background is welcomed
• A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to get involved
