Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Teaching Assistant in Abergavenny to support a child with Autism/ASD in the Early Years setting. The role is long-term, part-time, mornings only, within a mainstream primary school.

The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support, helping the child engage with learning, communication and daily classroom activities. Makaton experience is desirable; a patient, proactive communicator is ideal.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Early Years or Primary School setting.
• Experience working with children with Autism / ASD or ALN.
• Makaton experience is desirable but not essential.
• Patient, supportive, and adaptable with strong communication.

Responsibilities

Salary: £85.50 - £92.63 per day

Do you have experience using Makaton or an interest in developing your communication skills?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School in Abergavenny, supporting them with their search for a Teaching Assistant. The school provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where pupils are supported to develop their learning, communication and independence.

The school is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a long-term, part-time basis, working mornings only within their Early Years provision. The successful Teaching Assistant will provide one-to-one support for a child with Autism / ASD, helping them engage with learning, communication and daily classroom activities.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children within an Early Years or Primary School setting
• Experience working with children with Autism / ASD or additional learning needs / ALN
• Makaton experience is desirable but not essential
• A patient and supportive approach
• Strong communication skills
• A positive and adaptable attitude
