Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant for a SEN school in Tredegar. You will support pupils with additional needs across all Key Stages, focusing on academic and emotional development.

The role is initially short-term with potential for long-term placement for the right candidate. A proactive, patient approach and resilience in managing challenging behaviours are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with additional needs or disabilities.
• Experience with students with SEMH and challenging behaviours.
• QCF/CACHE level 2 or 3 or equivalent.
• Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across all Key Stages with Autism/ASD, SLD and challenging behaviours.
• Contribute to emotional, social and behavioural development of students.
• Work as part of a SEN provision to support learning and inclusion.

Skills

Experience with SEN/ disabilities

SEMH experience

Level 2/3 CACHE or equivalent

Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant / SEN LSA

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £85 - £95 a day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEN school in Tredegar, supporting with their recruitment for a SEN Learning Support Assistant / LSA. The setting is centred on pupil's development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and with their own emotional, social and behavioural skills.

The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this short-term role, although there is potential for this to become a long-term placement for the right SEN Learning Support Assistant / SEN LSA. The successful SEN Learning Support Assistant / LSA will bring a new dimension and skill set to this role, be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children's individual needs and have a positive impact on the wider school.

The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.

The successful SEN Learning Support Assistant / SEN LSA will have:

• Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities


• Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours


• Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent


• Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
