Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a child with Autism/ASD and Global Developmental Delay in a primary school setting in Abergavenny. The role focuses on enabling access to learning, promoting independence, and delivering positive learning outcomes in and out of the classroom.

The ideal candidate has experience with ALN, strong communication skills, and a patient, adaptable approach, working effectively as part of the school team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with ALN, particularly Autism / ASD and Global Developmental Delay.
• Previous experience providing one-to-one support within a primary school setting.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• A positive 'can-do' attitude.
• The ability to work effectively as part of the wider school team.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a child with Autism/ASD and Global Developmental Delay, helping them access learning and develop independence.
• Assist the child to achieve positive outcomes inside and outside of the classroom.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to support inclusion and learning goals.

Salary: £14.25 – £15.25 per hour

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a child with Autism / ASD and Global Developmental Delay, helping them access learning, develop independence and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside of the classroom.
