Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is seeking a SEN Learning Support Assistant for a Tredegar-based SEN school. The role involves supporting pupils across all Key Stages with Autism/ASD, SLD and challenging behaviours, with potential for a long-term placement for the right candidate.

You will bring a patient, nurturing approach to help pupils progress academically and in social and behavioural skills. Start date is ASAP and there is a focus on team effort within the school’s supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with additional needs/disabilities

• CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent
• MAPA or Team-Teach qualifications desirable

Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant / SEN LSA

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEN school in Tredegar, supporting with their recruitment for a SEN Learning Support Assistant / LSA. The setting is centred on pupil’s development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and with their own emotional, social and behavioural skills.

The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this short-term role, although there is potential for this to become a long-term placement for the right SEN Learning Support Assistant / SEN LSA. The successful SEN Learning Support Assistant / LSA will bring a new dimension and skill set to this role, be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children’s individual needs and have a positive impact on the wider school.

The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.

The successful SEN Learning Support Assistant / SEN LSA will have:

• Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities
• Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours
• Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent
• Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
