Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking an SEN Teacher in Stafford (ST16) to join a welcoming school. You will plan and deliver differentiated lessons for pupils with SEND, working in a supportive team to meet EHCP goals and ensure progress.

The role is full-time, term-time only, with a daily rate of £150–£220 depending on experience and qualifications. The school emphasises an inclusive, nurturing environment and close collaboration with teaching assistants and therapists.

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEN/SEND.
• Good understanding of autism, learning difficulties, SEMH or behavioural needs.

Responsibilities

Salary: £150.00 – £220.00 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

We are working with a welcoming and supportive school in the ST16 area of Stafford that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join their team. As an SEN Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with SEND.
• Teach pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, learning difficulties, SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment where every pupil feels valued.
• Develop strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, engagement and independence.
• Adapt teaching strategies, resources and activities to ensure all pupils can access learning.
• Monitor, assess and record pupils' progress, identifying areas for further development.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists and other professionals to provide effective support.
• Contribute to and implement EHCP outcomes and individual learning plans.
• Promote positive behaviour through consistent, supportive and restorative approaches.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupils' progress, wellbeing and individual needs.
• Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and personal development.

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Has experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEN/SEND.
• Has a good understanding of autism, learning difficulties, SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Is confident planning and delivering differentiated and engaging lessons.
• Is patient, calm, resilient and compassionate.
• Can build positive and professional relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
• Has strong classroom management and behaviour-management skills.
• Is committed to inclusion and ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.
• Has excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
