SEN Secondary Teacher

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher with experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Secondary Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

This rewarding opportunity is suitable for experienced SEN Teachers, Mainstream Teachers with SEN experience, or ECTs who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with additional learning needs.

The Role

As an SEN Secondary Teacher, you will deliver engaging and tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of students with a range of special educational needs, helping them to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to support students with varying learning needs.
  • Work with students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and other additional needs.
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans and strategies.
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and support staff.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress.
  • Support the emotional wellbeing and personal development of students.
  • Maintain high expectations while promoting confidence, independence, and achievement.
Requirements
Essential
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable
  • Experience within a specialist SEN school or resource provision.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and person-centred planning.
  • Experience supporting students with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, or Complex Needs.
  • Additional SEN-related qualifications or training.
