Job summary

Teaching Personnel seeks a caring SEN Support Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Burnley. You will support pupils with SEND, contributing to an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist with IEPs and intervention programmes, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals. Safeguarding and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with SEND in a school, childcare, or similar setting.
  • Calm, nurturing, and patient approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Hold a relevant qualification (desirable but not essential).

As an SEN Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will help create an inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
