SEN Teacher - Rochester

Full-Time - MPS-UPS - January 2026 start - Temp till end of July 2026

Tradewind are recruiting for an SEN Teacher to work within an SEN School in Rochester to start in January 2026. This will be on a full-time basis and will be a maternity contract till the end of July 2026. There is a possibility this could be extended. Interviews will also commence at the earliest availability. This position is open to both ECTs and Experienced Teachers alike.

The school is an SEN School on the outskirts of Rochester, catering to pupils aged 4-11 with Autism. All pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and are supported in a nurturing environment, with the children's needs at the centre of the school's ethos. It has a very palpable feeling of warmth permeating through it and is the perfect place for someone who wants to make a difference to children's lives.

The Role
  • Planning and delivering a bespoke SEN curriculum to Primary aged pupils with SEN within a Year 1 class.
  • Responsibility for ensuring your cohort is supported and challenged appropriately with the work set.
  • Managing behaviour within the classroom effectively
  • Liaising with Parents/Guardians on the progress and/or potential development areas of students
Requirements
  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in the UK
  • Experience as an SEN Teacher, or likewise experience teaching the UK Primary Curriculum with an interest in SEN.
  • Knowledge of pre-curriculum levels
  • Hold an enhanced DBS (DBS on the update service is highly desirable)
  • Have right to work in the UK
