Job summary

Aspire People is supporting a Derby school in its search for an SEN/Primary teacher with SEN experience. The role covers KS1 and KS2 in a fast-paced environment with some challenging behaviour. A trial teaching period will allow the school to assess fit and capability.

The successful candidate will hold QTS and demonstrate a strong commitment to SEN pupils, with excellent communication and teamwork. The position is full-time and starts as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• SEN experience with pupils across KS1/KS2.
• Qualified teacher with QTS and SEN expertise.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and families.
• Strong behaviour management and resilience for challenging behavior.

Are you an SEN Teacher or even a Primary School Teacher with SEN experience looking to utilise your skills? I am working with a school in Derby who are looking to a recruit a full time teacher to work at this fast paced primary school. The children are in KS1 and KS2 and their behaviour can be challenging. The school want someone to become part of the team and be self motivated. The role starts as soon as possible and the school would like to see you in action and teaching/working with the children for a trial so you can get a feel for the role and what it entails.

I am looking for a strong teacher with a wealth of SEN experience even if this is in a mainstream school.

The skills you will need to have:

• have a teaching qualification with QTS
• commitment to working with pupils with special educational needs
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• the ability to build good relationships based on trust with pupils and their families
• behaviour management skills, with the ability to manage confrontation and challenging behaviour
• initiative and problem-solving skills
• teamworking skills to liaise with other teachers, teaching assistants, and other professionals such as educational psychologists, speech and language therapists and social workers
