Job summary

SEND Inclusion Support is recruiting an experienced SEN Teacher for a valued partner school in Newbury, Berkshire. The role will involve delivering high-quality teaching to pupils with SEND, along with providing additional teaching cover when required.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced teacher who can adapt teaching to individual needs, maintain high expectations, and support safeguarding and pupil wellbeing in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• QTS or recognised equivalent required.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching to different needs and abilities.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Flexibility to support with additional cover when required.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons appropriate to pupils' individual needs.
• Adapting teaching, resources and approaches for pupils with SEND.
• Supporting pupils to make meaningful academic and personal progress.
• Establishing positive relationships and creating a calm, inclusive learning environment.
• Monitoring pupil progress and identifying barriers to learning.
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team.
• Providing additional teaching cover when required.
• Maintaining high expectations while recognising individual starting points.
• Supporting positive behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing.
• Contributing to the wider life of the school.

About The Role

SEND Inclusion Support are recruiting an experienced SEN Teacher for a valued partner school in Newbury.

The role will involve delivering high-quality teaching to pupils with SEND, alongside providing additional teaching cover when required due to staff absence.

This is a great opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working within a supportive school environment but also values the opportunity to use their specialist SEND knowledge to adapt teaching around individual pupils.

You will have a teaching commitment within the school, alongside providing additional cover when required.

About You

You Will Ideally Have

• The ability to adapt teaching to different needs and abilities.
• A calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Flexibility to support the school with additional cover when required.
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Experience within a specialist SEND, SEMH, autism or alternative provision setting would be advantageous.
