Job summary

Reeson Education is seeking caring SEN Teaching Assistants to support students with ASD/MLD in specialist and mainstream settings. Roles start after the Easter break, with ongoing training and CPD opportunities. The post involves supporting learning, communication and independence while collaborating with teachers and support staff.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with ASD/MLD is desirable.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Willingness to support with personal care.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
  • Help students access learning and develop independence.
  • Assist with communication, social skills and emotional regulation.
  • Implement individual education and support plans.
  • Support with sensory needs and behaviour strategies.
  • Provide personal care where required (toileting, dressing, feeding).
  • Work closely with teachers and other support professionals.
