Job summary

Teach is seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across primary, secondary and specialist settings. Flexible day-to-day, short-term, long-term and permanent opportunities are available.

Roles involve 1:1 and small group support, assisting with learning activities, and helping pupils build independence while safeguarding and promoting welfare.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND in a school or similar setting.
• A patient, caring and positive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Flexible and professional attitude.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and other SEND requirements.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
• Follow Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate records and follow all safeguarding procedures.
