Job summary

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a Tower Hamlets primary school. You will provide one-to-one support, help pupils access activities, and contribute to a calm, inclusive classroom environment.

The role requires ASD experience, strong safeguarding knowledge, and a compassionate, patient approach. DBS on Update Service is preferred, with a long-term, full-time contract and daily pay of £105-£120 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ASD and very high additional needs.
• Recent experience working within a primary school setting.
• Proven ability to provide effective one-to-one SEN support.
• Strong communication, patience, and behaviour management skills.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support for pupils with SEN, including ASD and complex learning needs.
• Support pupils in accessing classroom activities and following structured routines.
• Use positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement and emotional regulation.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support plans.
• Build strong and supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
