Job summary

GSL Education are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other learning needs in Newham. You will deliver consistent 1:1 support, help pupils access lessons, regulate emotions and engage with routines in both primary or secondary settings as required.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required or applicant must be willing to apply. This long-term role offers daily pay rates of £95-£120 and the chance to make a real difference in

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ASD in school.
• Ability to deliver consistent 1:1 SEN support.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and child welfare commitment.
• Calm, patient and adaptable communication style.

Responsibilities

• Deliver consistent 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, particularly those with ASD.
• Assist pupils in engaging with learning activities tailored to their development levels.
• Apply structured strategies to support communication, behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to follow personalised learning plans.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction.
• Maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
