Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an SEN Teacher for a secondary special school in Bury for a full-time post from September 2026, covering the full academic year. The ideal candidate will be QTS accredited with experience in SEN settings, an ability to differentiate instructions, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

SEN Teacher - Full-Time September Start Bury

Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a fantastic secondary special school in Bury, which is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join its team on a full-time basis from September for the full academic year.

This rewarding role involves teaching secondary-aged pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including students with autism and communication needs. The successful candidate will be passionate about creating engaging, personalised learning experiences that enable every pupil to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to meet individual learning needs.
• Teach and support secondary-aged pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Down syndrome.
• Foster a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom where every student can thrive.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals to support pupil progress.
• Monitor, assess and celebrate individual achievements while adapting teaching strategies to maximise learning outcomes.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues to ensure the best possible support for every learner.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

• Have experience teaching pupils with special educational needs, or demonstrate a genuine passion for working within an SEN setting.
