Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a specialist Secondary SEN School in Bury, supporting students aged 11-19 with additional needs. You will work with teachers and support staff to deliver 1:1 and small-group support, encouraging participation and helping develop communication, social and emotional skills.

The role focuses on creating a safe, inclusive learning environment, fostering independence and confidence, and building positive relationships with pupils.

Qualifications

• Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Encourage engagement, learning and participation in lessons.
• Assist with communication, social and emotional development.
• Provide personal care support where required, ensuring dignity and respect.
• Help students develop independence and self-confidence.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
• Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Celebrate every achievement, big or small.
• Previous experience working with children, young people or within SEN settings is desirable but not essential.
