Job summary

Vision for Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work in SEN schools across Cheltenham. The role is full-time, term-time only, with hours 8:30am to 3:30pm and £14.24 per hour (PAYE). You will deliver 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils feel supported and engaged in learning.

This role offers CPD access, ongoing support from a dedicated consultant, and potential permanent opportunities. DBS disclosure is required or you must be willing to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or vulnerable groups.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Patient, calm and able to handle challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
• Support small group activities and classroom learning.
• Encourage communication, independence and confidence.
• Help pupils regulate emotions and engage positively during the day.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff.
• Create a calm, inclusive learning environment where every pupil can succeed.
