Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to support pupils aged 5-19 with a range of SEN, including SLD and PMLD, in a specialist school setting near Chigwell, Essex.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, personalised learning programmes, sensory activities, and close collaboration with teachers and therapists to create an inclusive environment. Working hours are 8:00–16:00, Monday to Friday, term-time only, with pay £90–£110 per day DOE.

Qualifications

• Passion for supporting children with complex learning needs.
• Patient, resilient and proactive attitude.
• Experience with SLD and/or PMLD is desirable.
• Experience with personal care or sensory support is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to learning and care needs.
• Assist with personalised learning programmes and care plans.
• Support communication, engagement, emotional regulation and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships that promote confidence and wellbeing.
