Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. are recruiting for an SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist primary school in Preston on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

You will support pupils aged 2-11 with a range of additional needs, including autism and complex learning needs. The role involves 1:1 and small group support, aiding learning, communication and social development, and collaborating with teachers, therapists and support staff to promote a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN.
• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (desirable).
• Patient, resilient and caring approach.
• Good understanding of autism and complex learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
• Support learning, communication and social development.
• Assist with sensory regulation, emotional wellbeing and personal care where required.
• Implement behaviour and communication strategies.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff.
• Promote a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
