Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is recruiting a full‑time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Penwortham from November 2026. The role involves supporting pupils with diverse SEN needs to access learning, build confidence and make progress in an inclusive environment.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, assisting the class teacher with engaging activities and targeted interventions. Strong communication and a caring, proactive approach are essential for success in this

Qualifications

Previous experience supporting children within a school or educational setting is essential.
Experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly desirable.
A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable but not essential.
Strong communication, patience, and resilience.
A caring, proactive, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.

Responsibilities

Providing classroom-based support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs.
Working on a 1:1 basis and with small groups to support academic, social, and emotional development.
Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
Implementing strategies and interventions to help pupils remain focused and engaged.
Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting pupils with their individual learning targets.
Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to promote successful outcomes.
