Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Solihull from September 2026. Based in the school's SEN Hub, you will support pupils across KS1 and KS2 with SEMH needs, delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions and promoting positive behaviours.

You'll work closely with the SENCO and pastoral team, creating a calm, inclusive learning environment and helping pupils access the curriculum while safeguarding and supporting wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly SEMH, in primary or specialist settings.
• Experience delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning strategies.
• Patient, nurturing approach and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the school's dedicated SEN Hub

The Opportunity

Long Term Futures are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Solihull from September 2026. This rewarding role will be based within the school's dedicated SEN Hub, supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 with a range of additional needs, with a particular focus on Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Working closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and pastoral team, you will provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils regulate their emotions, develop positive behaviours, and successfully access the curriculum.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support within the school's dedicated SEN Hub
• Support pupils across KS1 and KS2 with SEMH and additional learning needs
• Deliver targeted interventions linked to EHCP outcomes and personalised learning plans
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development
• Help pupils successfully access the curriculum and reintegrate into mainstream lessons where appropriate
• Work collaboratively with the SENCO, class teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals
• Promote confidence, independence, and positive relationships throughout the school day
• Create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment that enables every pupil to succeed

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly SEMH, within a primary or specialist setting
• Experience delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning strategies
• Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach to supporting children with additional needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
