Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant for a primary SEN Hub in Sutton Coldfield. The role supports pupils with diverse needs through 1:1 and small-group sessions, guiding engagement and progress.

Based in the B72 area from September 2026, you will work with the SENCO and teachers to deliver personalised learning and positive outcomes within a supportive school environment. DBS and references required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN in primary or specialist settings.
• Proven ability to deliver 1:1 and small-group support.
• Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the SEN Hub.
• Support pupils with SEN and additional learning needs.
• Deliver targeted interventions linked to EHCP outcomes.
• Help pupils access the curriculum with adapted activities.
• Support communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Work with teachers, SENCO and external professionals.
• Promote independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Maintain a calm, structured, inclusive learning environment.

Contract: Long-term/Permanent

Day Rate: £110-£120

Start Date: September 2026

Commutable From: Erdington, Wylde Green, Boldmere, Birmingham, Castle Bromwich

The Opportunity

Long Term Futures are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the B72 area from September 2026.

This role will be based within the school's dedicated SEN Hub, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs through a combination of 1:1 support and small-group interventions.

You will work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and wider support team to help pupils access learning, develop confidence, regulate emotions, and make positive progress both academically and socially. The school offers a highly supportive and inclusive environment with a strong focus on personalised learning.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the school's SEN Hub
• Support pupils with a range of SEN and additional learning needs
• Deliver targeted interventions linked to EHCP outcomes and individual learning plans
• Help pupils access the curriculum through adapted activities and personalised support
• Support communication, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour
• Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary or specialist setting
• Experience delivering 1:1 and small-group support
• Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
• Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive SEN team
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
