A dedicated educational organization is looking for a SEN Learning Support Assistant in Loughton to provide one-on-one support for a KS1 pupil with Special Educational Needs. GSL Education is seeking a dedicated, patient and proactive SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in KS1 at a warm and welcoming primary school in Loughton. This long-term role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive both academically and emotionally.
Provide focused 1-1 support for a KS1 pupil with Special Educational Needs, ensuring they feel safe, understood and fully included in school life.
Assist with personalised learning activities, adapting tasks under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
Help the child develop confidence, independence and social skills through consistent and nurturing support.
Use positive behaviour strategies and build strong, trusting relationships.
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external professionals to ensure the child’s needs are met each day.
Encourage engagement, celebrate progress and support the pupil through challenges and transitions.
Experience supporting children with SEN (Autism, communication needs or similar).
A calm, caring and patient approach with a genuine desire to make a difference.
Reliability, commitment and the ability to form positive relationships quickly.
Strong communication skills and a flexible, team-focused attitude.
Availability for a full-time, long-term position starting January.
