Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring SEN Learning Support Assistant to support pupils across Camberley, Surrey. You will work closely with teachers to deliver personalised 1:1 and small-group support, helping students access lessons and build confidence.

The role involves supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH and other needs, promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing, and adapting activities to individual requirements. Immediate start available.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and the wider school team to provide personalised support to pupils with a range of additional needs.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group learning support


• Helping pupils engage with lessons and classroom activities


• Supporting children with autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication and learning needs


• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing


• Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills


• Adapting learning activities to suit individual needs


• Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and other support professionals


• Monitoring pupils' progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in supporting children or young people with SEN, or has strong transferable experience


• Patient, empathetic and approachable


• Confident supporting pupils with different learning and behavioural needs


• A strong communicator who works well as part of a team


• Calm and consistent when dealing with challenging situations


• Passionate about helping every child reach their potential

A relevant qualification in SEN, education, childcare, psychology or supporting teaching and learning is desirable, although relevant experience and the right attitude are equally important.
