Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Burnley is seeking a passionate SEN KS2 Teacher to join a supportive, inclusive school where every child is guided to reach their full potential.

You will plan differentiated lessons for pupils with autism, ADHD, speech/language needs and other complex requirements, collaborating with SEN staff and parents to implement IEPs and EHCP targets. A DBS check is required.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) pupils.
  • Good understanding of EHCPs and differentiated learning approaches.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills.
  • Patient, empathetic and flexible approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for SEN KS2 pupils.
  • Create inclusive, nurturing classroom environment.
  • Develop and implement IEPs and EHCP targets.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, parents and external agencies.
  • Monitor pupil progress and adjust teaching strategies.
  • Support development of communication, independence and life skills.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contract Type: Full-time

Start Date: Monday 2nd November or ASAP

The Role
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, parents, and external agencies.
  • Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Promote pupils' academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
  • Support the development of communication, independence, and life skills.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
  • A strong understanding of EHCPs and differentiated learning approaches.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills.
