Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to cover roles across Kirklees & Calderdale. You will plan differentiated lessons, work with SEN staff and families, and support pupils with a wide range of needs to reach their potential.

QTS required, experience with SEN preferred, and a commitment to safeguarding. Roles include temporary, part-time, and permanent opportunities with competitive pay.

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of a range of special educational needs and associated strategies.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

SEN Teacher - Kirklees & Calderdale

Location: Kirklees & Calderdale

Salary: GBP160 - GBP240 per day (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time | Temporary & Permanent Opportunities Available

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? We are currently working with a range of specialist schools, alternative provisions, and inclusive mainstream settings across Kirklees and Calderdale that are seeking enthusiastic and committed SEN Teachers to join their teams.

This is a rewarding opportunity for teachers who are passionate about creating inclusive learning environments and supporting pupils with a wide range of special educational needs to achieve their full potential.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored, engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with additional learning requirements. You will work closely with support staff, SENCOs, therapists, and families to ensure every child receives the support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

You may work with pupils with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
  • Complex and additional needs
