This role requires delivering engaging lessons to students with special educational needs across Key Stages 3 and 4. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN English Teacher to join a supportive and well-resourced Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Hull. Starting January 2026, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the learning and development of students with a range of additional needs.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated English lessons to learners across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring each student is supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Plan and deliver creative, accessible English lessons tailored to individual learning needs
Differentiate resources and teaching approaches to support a range of SEN including ASD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
Work collaboratively with the SENCO, support staff, and wider school team
Track student progress and provide constructive feedback
Create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring classroom environment
Build strong relationships with students, encouraging confidence and independence
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience working with children with SEN (school-based preferred)
Strong knowledge of the KS3/KS4 English curriculum
Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills
A compassionate, patient, and resilient teaching style
