Job description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN English Teacher to join a supportive and well-resourced Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Hull. Starting January 2026, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the learning and development of students with a range of additional needs.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated English lessons to learners across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring each student is supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver creative, accessible English lessons tailored to individual learning needs

  • Differentiate resources and teaching approaches to support a range of SEN including ASD, SEMH, and learning difficulties

  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO, support staff, and wider school team

  • Track student progress and provide constructive feedback

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring classroom environment

  • Build strong relationships with students, encouraging confidence and independence

Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience working with children with SEN (school-based preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of the KS3/KS4 English curriculum

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills

  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient teaching style
