Job summary

SENse Learning is hiring Learning Support Assistants to provide one-to-one mentoring for SEND learners in varied settings across Ventnor and surrounding areas. This role emphasizes creativity, trauma-informed methods, and student-centred support to help disengaged learners thrive.

You will work flexibly, with in-person, hybrid, and community-based sessions, arranging times with parents, carers, or schools. DBS and references are required, with rolling interviews as applications arrive.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs.
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references (safeguarding).
• Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people who may have faced challenges in previous education.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities.
• Support the development of life skills, confidence, and independence.
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies to support diverse needs.
• Provide feedback and reflections to track progress and adapt support as needed.
