Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support for SEND learners across the UK. You'll deliver creative, student-centred activities in home, school, or community settings, and help learners build life skills, confidence and independence.

You'll work as a self-employed associate, choose referrals, and set your own schedule with flexible in-person, hybrid, and community-based opportunities. DBS and references required.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH, EBSA, trauma, PDA, mental health)
• Background: Ideal for Support Workers, Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), Teaching Assistants (TAs), Higher-Level TAs, Youth Workers, Personal Assistants (PAs), or those with other relevant care or education backgrounds
• Approach: Child-centred, holistic approach with ingenuity and creativity to tailor curriculum to the student
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references
• Location: Based in the UK with right to work in the UK, including remote/online roles
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people facing challenges
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities
• Support development of life skills, confidence and independence
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies for diverse needs
• Model and promote emotional regulation for learners
• Share progress updates with the student team and adapt as needed
