Job summary

SENse Learning is hiring SEN Teaching Assistants to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support in homes and community settings across Swindon. You will work with SEN learners, focusing on confidence, emotional regulation and life skill development, not limited to academics.

Flexible hours and session times with parents or schools are available. Role requires at least 2 years of relevant experience, enhanced DBS and references.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs.
• Background: Roles such as Support Worker, LSA, TA or related care/education roles are suitable.
• Safeguarding: Knowledge and DBS compliance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people who may have faced challenges.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities.
• Support development of life skills, confidence, and independence.
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies to support needs.
• Provide feedback and reflections to track progress and adapt support.
