Job summary

Education Authority seeks a dedicated Classroom Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs. You will assist with learning activities, help implement Education/ Care Plans, and promote inclusion within the mainstream setting.

Training and support are provided to help you work effectively with teachers and pupils. The role requires a Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience, strong communication, and a commitment to safeguarding and professional development.

Qualifications

• Essential criteria include a Level 2 qualification in a relevant area or 12 months' experience in a formal learning environment.
• Demonstrated health and safety requirements knowledge and safeguarding awareness.
• Ability to plan, organise, and work as part of a team to support pupils with SEN.

Responsibilities

• Assist with educational support for pupils with special educational needs.
• Prepare resources and support learning activities in and out of the classroom.
• Support with behavioural management and safety during school activities.
• Provide supervision and assist with off-site activities and transport where needed.
