Job summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEN Classroom Support Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school in Trafford, supporting students aged 11-19 with a range of additional needs.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, helping with communication, social and emotional development, and working closely with teachers. DBS update service is required or available; term-time only.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Patient, resilient, and positive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for supporting students with additional needs.
• DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Assist with classroom learning and engagement.
• Promote positive behaviour and independence.
• Support students with communication, social, and emotional development.
• Work closely with teachers and other professionals to meet individual needs.
