Job summary

Engage Education are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Salford. The role involves providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN, helping with learning, communication and social development, and implementing individual learning plans.

You will collaborate with teachers and professionals to ensure appropriate support and foster an inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour, autism or complex needs.
• Patient, resilient and compassionate.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils with their learning, communication and social development.
• Help implement individual learning and support plans.
• Work alongside teachers and other professionals to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop independence.
• Assist with classroom activities and create an inclusive learning environment.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support pupils who may display challenging or dysregulated behaviour.
